On 21 September GPO Defence Technologies had a stand at Defence Innovation Day, the opening day of Estonian Defence Week 2026 in Tallinn.

About Estonian Defence Week

Estonian Defence Week (21–25 September) is one of the largest defence and security events in the Baltic region, bringing some 4,000 defence professionals to Tallinn. It is organised by the Estonian Defence and Aerospace Industry Association (EDIA) — of which GPO is a member — together with the Estonian Ministry of Defence, the International Centre for Defence and Security (ICDS) and Tehnopol. The week brings together the Defence Industry Symposium, the Annual Baltic Conference on Defence, the Tallinn Defence Expo with more than 100 exhibitors, and the NATO Open Innovation Conference.

Defence Innovation Day opened the week at the Kultuurikatel creative hub. Organised by Tehnopol through the NATO DIANA Estonian Accelerator, with the support of the Ministry of Defence, it focused on scaling defence innovation, lessons from the war in Ukraine and the protection of critical infrastructure — with startup demonstrations alongside speakers from the Ministry of Defence, the Estonian Defence Forces and NATO DIANA.

On our stand

  • AKINAK-AG, our ~100 g onboard AI module, with onboard camera footage on the stand screen: detection and tracking running on the aircraft itself, with no ground station and no cloud.
  • Conversations with defence delegations, platform builders and industry visitors from Estonia and abroad about integrating the module on their platforms.

AKINAK-AG is in operational use with Ukrainian forces against ground targets. Any engagement decision requires explicit operator authorisation — by architecture, not by policy.

Thank you to Tehnopol, the Estonian Defence Week organisers and everyone who stopped by. Next stop: TechEx Europe, stand 210, RAI Amsterdam, 19–20 October.
